Dayton was delivering his State of the State speech on Monday evening when he fainted.

The speech was cut short due to the incident. Dayton was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and has since been released.

On Tuesday, Dayton announced that he has prostate cancer but expects to make a full recovery.
