Pep Guardiola wants a Premier League star
Is the Manchester City boss looking to bolster his squad in January?
Rumours linking the Citizens with a move for Harry Kane refuse to go away
Pep Guardiola is reportedly interested in signing Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.
The Manchester City boss is a long-term admirer of the England captain, and has made no secret of his desire to bring him to the Etihad Stadium.
Kane has been in impressive form for Tottenham this season, scoring 12 goals in 18 appearances in all competitions.
He is also said to be unhappy with the club's lack of progress under Antonio Conte, and is believed to be open to a move away from north London.
Manchester City are in need of a new striker, with Sergio Aguero having left the club at the end of last season.
Gabriel Jesus has failed to impress as Aguero's replacement, and Guardiola is keen to bring in a world-class striker to lead his attack.
Kane would be a perfect fit for Manchester City, and would give them a much-needed boost in their quest for more trophies.
However, Tottenham are reluctant to sell their star player, and are likely to demand a huge fee for his services.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester City will be able to prise Kane away from Tottenham, but it is a deal that Guardiola is desperate to get over the line.
