Cubs to Play Two Games in London in 2023

Series Against Cardinals Part of MLB's Plan to Expand Globally

The Chicago Cubs will play two regular-season games against the St. Louis Cardinals in London in 2023, Major League Baseball announced on Wednesday.

The games will be played at Olympic Stadium on June 24-25 as part of MLB's efforts to expand its global reach.

This will be the first time the Cubs have played a regular-season game outside of North America.

The Cubs are excited about the opportunity to play in London, according to team president Jed Hoyer.

"We are thrilled to be a part of this historic event," Hoyer said in a statement.

"This is a great opportunity for us to connect with our fans in the United Kingdom and to grow the game of baseball globally."

The Cardinals are also excited about the opportunity to play in London, according to team president John Mozeliak.

"We are honored to be selected to represent the National League in this historic event," Mozeliak said in a statement.

"We look forward to competing against the Cubs in London and to showcasing the great game of baseball to a global audience."

Tickets for the games will go on sale to the public in the fall.

The games will be televised on ESPN.

The Cubs and Cardinals are two of the most popular teams in Major League Baseball.

The series is expected to draw a large audience in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
